ISO 14001:2015

For many years Taupo DeBretts Spa Resort has been a leader in environmental initiatives and recognised for setting benchmarks. We have been ISO accredited since 2000.

In 2019, we are accredited with an ISO 14001:2015 certification, which recognises our business is implementing an efficient environmental management system through the whole business.

The Environmental statement we have had for many years has been upgraded to a full Environmental Policy in February this year. The new policy includes Taupo DeBretts Spa Resort`s commitment to the Tiaki promise ‘’to care for, protect and preserve our home. ‘’

Our environmental initiatives, achievements and awards over 31 years show our strong commitment to protecting our environment and to ethical business practices. Taupo DeBretts Spa Resort is a large business so it is imperative that we reuse, recycle and reduce at every opportunity.

We have been recognised for our work in pest eradication, native flora protection, sustainable use of geothermal resources, moving from paper to digital in many areas as well as our support and sponsorship of deserving local community projects.

Wherever possible, we reflect our country and people with native planting and the addition of Maori art and sculpture around the pools.

Our Environmental Management System has been created and we were the first Holiday Park in Australasia recommended to be accredited for ISO 14001:2015. This system is managed by a dedicated Environmental coordinator.

’The purpose of this International Standard is to provide organizations with a framework to protect the environment and respond to changing environmental conditions in balance with socio-economic needs’’ (AS/NZS ISO 14001:2015)
