It has been two long years since our borders closed but we will soon be welcoming visitors back to our beautiful New Zealand.
From 11:59 pm on the 12th of April 2022, New Zealand borders will be open to Australian tourists. Furthermore, from 11:59 pm on the 1st May 2022, we will welcome visa waiver visitors; such as tourists from the United States, United Kingdom and Japan. Included in this group are visitors from other countries who are already in possession of a valid visitor visa. The great news is that there will be no isolation requirements of any kind for vaccinated visitors.
New Zealand is proud to be able to offer our visitors a safe environment during their stay; and with winter approaching, we are gearing up for an epic ski season.
Mount Ruapehu, within the Tongariro National Park, has three major peaks: and boasts the highest point in the North Island; as well as being New Zealand’s largest commercial ski field. The Tongariro mountain range is situated just 23 km southwest of the southern shore of Lake Taupo. With its beautiful lake and the snow-capped mountain range, Taupo boasts one of the most picturesque views in New Zealand. Conveniently situated in the centre of the North Island, and in a geothermal hotspot, Taupo has a variety of fabulous all-season activities on offer; for nature-lovers and thrill-seekers alike. The town itself has streets lined with buzzing cafes and restaurants, art and craft galleries; and trendy boutique shops.
Taupo DeBretts Spa Resort is an award-winning Holiday Park, offering accommodation for every budget. During the winter months, there is nothing like relaxing in our soothing hot pools; while the kids are entertained on our heated hydroslides and warm-water playground.
