Waipahihi Community Planting Day

Waipahihi Community Planting Day
Saturday, 28 July 2018 11:00AM to 01:00PM

Come along and get involved with the restoration of Waipahihi Gully with greening taupo and the Waipahihi Community.

And there are just not plants to put in the ground on the day. Hilton Taupo will be providing the Sausage sizzle for all planters after planting.

And Mercury Energy has generously provided funds to help pay for 10 Doc 200s and enough funds to subsidise a Victor trap and tunnel for many Waipahihi residents to put in their backyards, these will only be $5 and will be available at the Waipahihi Gully community planting day on 28th July from 11am.

The trapping and planting is all part of a community initiative to restore Waipahihi Gully involving passionate local residence (being lead by John and Pat Gibbs) Waipahihi school and support from local businesses, local and regional council, PFT, GT and KGT. Amazing work guys!

Everyone is welcome!

Bring your gumboots, garden gloves and a spade, we'll have some spades to share and there will be a few holes dug. Bring suitable wet weather gear if required. Enjoy a fun morning out.

See you there!

Join us from 11am at the Waipahihi Gully, just south of Rainbow Point Motel.

Look out for the Greening Taupo signs.
Listen to More FM.

Park either at Rainbow point shops and cross over to the planting, or on the grass just pass the planting. Look out for the Greening Taupo Signs.
