Public Health Services informed us today that two recent customers to Taupo DeBretts have since been diagnosed with COVID-19.
The family travelled to Taupo between 18th to 20th of September and visited activities in our area.
The visitors were at our Waterpark on Friday, the 18th of September, between 2.30 pm and 6:45 pm. They were possibly infectious at the time.
That being said, the visitors concerned are not considered to have been in close contact with any of our staff members, or with members of the public. Public Health Services have recommended that our facilities remain open but that we be especially vigilant for any symptoms of COVID-19 for the 14 days after the date of possible exposure.
The symptoms of COVID-19 include one or more of the following:
- Cough
- Fever
- Shortness of breath
- Sore throat
- Runny nose
- Temporary loss of smell
If you develop any of these symptoms, you should stay at home and contact your GP or Healthline on 0800 358 5453, to arrange to be tested for COVID-19.
Our mineral pools (indoor/outdoor) are emptied daily and all surfaces sanitised.
We will be taking extra precautions by giving our Waterpark area a deep clean tonight. Let’s all unite against COVID-19.
