A Finalist in the Taupo Business Awards!

The prestigious Taupo Business Awards are held every second year; and with a record number of over one hundred entries this year, Taupo DeBretts Spa Resort has been selected as a finalist in all three of our chosen categories.

There was a buzz of excitement as representatives from Taupo businesses gathered at the Great Lake Centre on Thursday 1st July 2021, for the announcement of this year’s finalists. The judges, who were from the Management faculty of Toi-Ohomai Institute of Technology, had some tough decisions to make; as the standard this year was said to be extremely high. All entrants were required to answer an extensive set of questions and were then able to select up to three of the given business practice categories for their application. In total, twenty-six businesses in the Taupo region were recognised for their excellence across nine different business practice categories.

Taupo DeBretts Spa Resort was selected as a finalist in all three of our chosen categories; namely Taupo District Council Excellence in Environmental Sustainability, More FM Excellence in Community Contribution, and Strettons Excellence in Business – Large Business.

All finalists will now be subject to the second phase of judging, where they will be visited and questioned by a team of respected business leaders. In addition to this, they will be contacted or visited by a mystery judge who will be accessing the standard of their customer service, presentation and business marketing. The winners will be announced on Friday 20th of August 2021 at the Gala Awards Dinner.
