WINNERS OF THE UNISON GREAT LAKE TAUPO BUSINESS AWARDS 2021

Friday, the 1st of October was a night of celebration as businesses from the Taupo region gathered virtually to recognise the winners of the Unison Great Lake Taupo Business Awards. The virtual gala event was hosted by Locky McNeill and Jules Harvey, while live footage of the business finalists for each category, was displayed on a large screen.

The team at Taupo DeBretts was overjoyed to be announced the Overall Business of the Year. Thanks to Unison, they will be receiving the grand prize to the value of $2000 towards marketing their business. Taupo DeBretts Spa Resort won in the Large Business category, sponsored by Strettons accountants; as well as the category for Excellence in Environmental Sustainability, sponsored by the Taupo District Council. The DeBretts team are truly thankful to be recognised for their efforts and hard work in these areas.

The judges were impressed by the people-centric approach that DeBretts have, and how well they treated their staff during the Covid pandemic. Their excellent understanding of customer demographics was noted, and their customer relations was said to exceed expectations. A special mention was made to the operations manager, Mirela Petrar, whose passion for Taupo DeBretts was described as unwavering.
